TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP
SASSH Travelling Fellowship in Hand Surgery
A Travelling Fellowship has been created to enable a Senior Registrar/Junior Consultant to travel overseas to visit one or more centres of excellence in Hand Surgery. The Fellowship is awarded annually. The current value is R15,000-00.
The following conditions apply:
- The candidate must be selected from a teaching unit in South Africa
- A letter of recommendation by the Head of Department must accompany the application
- The candidate must submit his/her application, proposed itinerary and curriculum vitae to the Honorary Secretary of SASSH
- The successful candidate will be selected by the Executive Committee of SASSH and its decision will be final
- The successful candidate must provide a written commitment to return to South Africa to promote the development of hand surgery in South Africa for at least two (2) years after his/her return
- The candidate will report back at the annual SASSH congress
- Closing date for entries is 30 June of each year
ASSH Bunnel Travelling Fellowship
The ASSH Bunnell Travelling Fellowship is awarded annually to any member of SASSH at registrar level. This will allow for complimentary registration to the annual ASSH meeting as well as visits to local hand centres. Further information can be obtained from the Honorary Secretary of SASSH.
